President of the 14th Korea-Japan Congress of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
Seung-Ha Park

It is a great honor for me to host the 14th Korea-Japan Congress of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery on June 3-5 2018, in Pyeongchang, where the 2018 Winter Olympics is due to be held.

Pyeongchang is a county in Gangwon province of South Korea located in the east of Korean Peninsula. Beautiful Seorak mountain and Kangreung beach attract tourists all year round. The county is home of major ski resort which will be the home of the 2018 Winter Olympics- Alpensia ski resort. Alpensia will host the majority of the snow events of the Olympics and will also host our 14th KJPRS in June.

New highway was built to Pyeongchang and express train(KTX Gyeonggang Line) will be built between Incheon/Seoul airport and Pyeongchang for the 2018 Winter Olympics. There are more than hundred air flights from Japan to Korea Incheon/Seoul.

Through the years the congress has made great contributions to promote a close relationship between Korean and Japanese plastic surgeons. In 2016, MOU was signed between the two societies heightening collaboration and network. Through our efforts and collaboration, the two societies are undoubtedly standing at the forefront of plastic surgery in Asia and in the world.

Our 14th KJPRS congress will have 4 keynote speakers from Korea and Japan and 30 sessions including basic research, reconstruction and aesthetic surgery will also be covered. We are also planning to introduce sessions such as expert’s master class, video sessions and fun activities for our Junior members and residents.

I look forward to seeing all of you in Pyeongchang.

On behalf of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, I’d like to welcome all of you to the 14th Korea-Japan Congress of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, which will be held at the Alpensia Resort in the county of Pyeongchang during June 3rd -5th, 2018. ‘Alpensia’ is a compound word for ‘Alpen’ (Alps in German) and ‘Asia’, meaning the ‘Fantastic Alps in Asia’, and is the world-class venue serving as home to the outdoor events of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winder Olympics.

The KSPRS is honored to host members of Japanese Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery to this meeting. This congress will feature a myriad of presentations by Japanese and Korean plastic surgeons with wide range of experiences. The sessions will provide up-to-date knowledge to the attendees on current issues and ideas in the field of basic science research, trauma, reconstructive surgery, and craniofacial surgery. As aesthetic plastic surgery is yet another mainstream in today's plastic surgery, intriguing cosmetic sessions are included as well. Two societies will continue to closely collaborate each other to share the best research and clinical experiences. This meeting is another important opportunity to promote scientific exchanges and to reinforce mutual cooperation.

I look forward to seeing you in Alpensia, Pyeongchang

Please come and enjoy the meeting!
